Dance Concert 2022:
 The Dream of Home

In a world grappling with care for refugees by the thousands, this concert seeks to amplify the dignity of their voices and investigate ways for imagination to promote social justice. Our imagination opens our minds to see beyond rigid structures and limited thoughts that prevent people from visualizing possibility beyond what currently exists. This performance uses its distinct platform in dance to present a humanistic vision of compassion, community and connection. Our concert features Mexican choreographer José Limón’s glorious dedication to the devastated communities in war-torn Europe, “Missa Brevis,” and invites you to ask the question, “What is home to me, and how do we imagine a global home?”

36 Monologues About Urban Planning (to be performed in a cul-de-sac)

Stage Manager

36 MONOLOGUES ABOUT URBAN PLANNING (TO BE PERFORMED IN A CUL-DE-SAC) is a play by Grey Smith in which four performers will perform 36 monologues in a semi-random order, as determined by a deck of cards. The performers will need to be able to navigate the text, willing and ready to throw themselves into a moment at each draw of a card. They should be comfortable with a haphazard and generative approach to acting in this context, rather than traditional acting and deep textual specificity.

Twelve Olympians

Stage Manager

Second Stage Workshop, Twelve Olympians, where students explored and created their own interpretations of Greek gods and goddesses in the Underground Theatre. The group’s work cultivated into a devised film compilation of twelve solo performance pieces examining the personal lives of each of the Olympian gods. Existing between theatre and film, Twelve Olympians explores agency, immortality, history, contradiction, and humanity

Dance Concert 2021: Nevertheless, She Persisted

Assistant Stage Manager

This main-stage dance concert honors women’s persistence, creativity and grace on the long road to equal rights in society. As equality between all Americans rises to the forefront of justice and progress, the pieces in the concert amplify women’s voices and continued vulnerabilities. The concert features Martha Graham’s tour de force Scenes from Chronicle, an adaptation of the ‘Huntress Dance’ from Sylvia and Ruth Page award winner,  an original ballet based on Chinese women’s suffrage. Through dance performance, we seek to empower our students and advance our culture. By showcasing women’s struggles and achievements, we assert that our society’s future depends on women’s strengths.

Feb 3, 2021

TUMBLEWEED centers around a gay 17-year old, Will, in a small town who begins a relationship with a married 26-year-old man named Brian in his senior year of high school. The play serves as a love letter to Queer people in small, conservative towns as well as an exploration as to why some Queer people are able to live their lives as themselves and why others choose to live life in the closet.
